The Government has announced the implementation of a carbon price - the announcement contains a wide variety of policies that impact businesses of all sizes. Having operated under various carbon pricing schemes in Europe over the past few years, our view at Energy Return is that it is an essential first step in giving business the right incentives to thrive in a carbon constrained future.

Electricity prices to rise 62%

NSW electricity prices are set to soar 62 percent by 2013, according to the state’s pricing regulator.

The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) has today recommended that electricity prices rise by up to 62 percent, including inflation, over three years.
